busy but memorable trip

Wow it's been almost a year since my last entry...I guess facebook has taken over me.

This trip to LA has been one of the most memorable and fun LA trips I have had since I moved to Chicago.

For the most part this trip's purpose was for my friends Sonya and Larry's wedding.

I came a week before the wedding and got to hang out with Sonya and Larry and other old friends...it was a time

of sharing, drinking, laughing, reminiscing past events and hopes for the future.  I was honestly having a BLAST!!!

Langston got to really hang out with his uncle Andy and I think Andy will admit he had a little too much of

Langston this trip! hahaha..

Langston's LA trip included:

A Dodgers game (against the White Sox)

A trip to Disneyland

A trip to two children's museums

eating at: In-N-Out twice, Pinkberry or the equivalent of it like 10x, Curry House, kalbi 3x, sushi 3x, BCD, Chinese, and LA grandma's awesome korean food.

2 playdates

swimming like 2 a day for 10 days

watched WALL-E

and....oh shopping!

Pictures will come soon....

loving LA

So far being in LA has been great.  I have been using my time wisely by meeting everyone and anyone I can.  Langston has been loving LA too.  My best friends and I took him to Disneyland for the first time and he LOVED IT.  I thought we would only be able to stay for a couple of hours but we ended up staying close to 6 hours.  He was actually enjoying all the rides.  The highlight of the trip was getting to take pictures with the characters from the CARS movie.  He was a little bummed that he couldn't drive it and play with it but at the end of the day he himself admitted that it was sufficient to even be able to touch and see those cars. haha.  He loves looking at the pictures.

I myself am having a blast here in LA.  I totally forgot how much I loved the food here.  I'm sorry, but Korean food ROCKS here.  I don't know what the heck I was eating in Chicago.  For a brief moment I thought it tasted similar...boy was I wrong!

I'm also enjoying meeting my friend's children.  Its so weird that I too have friends that have children.  We had a couple of playdates already and I realized what an ahjumah I am.  Crazy....anyway, I still have about 2 more weeks here.

I can't wait till my friend Sonya's birthday weekend in SD....ahhhh

Things I still have to do in LA

1.) eat pinkberry or kiwiberry or iceberry or whatever is the equivalent

2.) outlet shopping in Cabazon

3.) drinks by the beach (minus LAngston of course)

4.) DEN-SHING (dancing)

5.) go to my friends wedding

6.) eat more IN-N-OUT

7.) ......hm

I LOVE IKEA!!!!

I love IKEA.  I'm in the suburbs for about a month so I have been trying to find places to take Langston.  It has been really really HOT and HUMID here so it was impossible to let him play outside.

This is where IKEA comes in...my friend Julie suggested to go to IKEA with the kids.  At first I was like...IKEA??  THen I remembered there was a kid day care thing that Langston was not eligible for.  THe child has to be at least 3 and potty trained.  Langston is potty trained and 2 and a half so I fibbed about the age and put him in.  We dropped off Bella(Julie's daughter) and Langston at 10:30 am and they told us to pick them up at 12pm.  I was so taken aback that I hung around a little bit to see if it was true....sure enough...it was.  Julie and I got to cruise around IKEA without kids and then we got coffee and pastries at the cafeteria area in the store  Then we went to go and pick up the kids and fed them some swedish meatballs.  After lunch they got play around in a huge playhouse thing in the children's department.  Then it was time to go home.  As soon as Langston got into the car, he knocked out!

We enjoyed a leisurely conversation and teatime.  AMAZING!!!  Do people know about this?  It was fantastic.

But, its not like I didn't leave without buying anything...I did.  But who cares!!!!  I am planning to go to IKEA every tues until I leave the burbs.  Pictures will come next....

Condo sold!!!!

Jinu and I finally sold our condo.  I thought this day would never come.  God really tested our patience on this one.  We didn't use a realtor so we saved almost $6,000.  Now we are actively searching for a new place.  We can finally be the "buyer" in this buyers market.  We have to get out of our place by August 1st, and now I have a date, I'm going to be a little sad.  This is the first place where Langston first slept, crawled, walked, talked and pooped in a real potty. haha  Funny huh?  I'm getting all emotional.  Anyway, Langston will finally get his own room and I'm going to decorate the crap out of it.
